Formation and characterization of Pt-Cu-IPMC with high specific surface area and dendritic electrode

Ionic polymer–metal composite (IPMC) is a kind of electroactive intelligent material. The dendritically interfacial electrodes (DIEs) very important to the performance IPMC. Herein, copper–platinum electrode (Pt-Cu-IPMC) with high specific area DIEs was prepared by combining impregnation-reduction plating platinum (IRP-Pt), autocatalytic (ACP-Pt) and chemical reduction copper (CRP-Cu). effects cycles ACP-Pt have been systematically investigated on electrode’s thickness, micro-morphology electromechanical response characteristics all samples. Importantly, when increases, particles in ionomer membrane are highly dispersed. For example, 4, penetration depth reaches 31.98 µm. Thus, dendrites were clearly observed Combined analysis strain energy density, it showed that presence has some impact driving IPMC, tip displacement, blocking force 67.27 mm 27.21 mN achieved Pt-Cu-IPMC after three ACP-Pt.
